Central Atrium Kiosk, Central Atrium Kiosk Variations and Outdoor Campus Orientation Kiosks | Forms guided by crowd behavior.

Combining way finding, touch points and crowd motion data to create forms that invite social interaction, the Central Atrium Kiosk was placed in a high traffic space with the intention to guide, engage and accommodate the flow of hundreds of people hourly. Through mapping crowd movement a balance was achieved between channeling and disrupting crowd flows. Drawing a corollary from whitewater rafting concepts, the kiosk slipstreams the crowd exiting the venue creating eddies of interaction and direct flat areas (hydraulics) for guidance.
