LIMA 01 & CS1 | Concept & Branding
Captivating and inspirational visionary concepts of the space elevator for public outreach. Hanging from a thread the space elevator is a tether that spans from earth reaching to the stars. It is suspended by the centrifugal force of the earth’s rotation with a counter weight 100,000 km from earth. The counterweight station CS1 is a lifeboat observatory perched with a majestic vertigo inducing view. The lifter is the workhorse vehicle, an elevator to the stars. LIMA 01 slowly and carefully begins its week-long 35,862 km journey, climbing the bean stalk to geostationary orbit. Powered remotely from the ground by a projected laser, the large solar collector array shelters the lifter in its shadow.
Envision the next step. Inspire the next journey.
The Space Elevator will be built about 50 years after everyone stops laughing. – Sir Arthur C. Clarke
